Privacy policy

Last updated [date]

This policy explains what information Worqsta collects, how it is used and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Worqsta is operated by [Business name], ABN [ABN], [address] ("we", "us"). Contact us about privacy at [privacy email].

Workshops use Worqsta to record their own customers and jobs. For that customer information the workshop decides what is collected and why, and we handle it on the workshop's behalf.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and sign-in information, and which workshop and role you belong to.

Workshop records entered by you and your team: customer names, phone numbers and email addresses, vehicle details, notes about calls and emails, enquiries, follow-ups, parts orders and attached files.

Activity history (audit trail): who created, changed or exported records, and when they signed in or out, with the IP address and browser used. It is kept so the workshop has an accurate record and can be seen by the workshop's owners and managers.

Technical information our hosting providers collect to run and secure the service, such as IP addresses and error logs.

How we use it

To provide the service: storing and showing records to the members of your workshop, sending the reminder emails your workshop has switched on, and keeping the service secure.

To contact account holders about the service, billing and important changes.

We do not sell personal information and do not use workshop customer data for advertising.

Who can see it

Only active members of your workshop can see its records. Owners decide who is on the team and can remove access at any time.

We use service providers to host the app and its data, store files and send email, currently [Cloudflare (hosting), Supabase (database and file storage), Resend (email) and Google (AI features)]. Data may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in [countries]. We require these providers to protect it.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

Access is limited to signed-in members of each workshop; every change is checked on our servers and recorded in the history. Attached files are kept in private storage and opened through short-lived links.

No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected workshops and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

How long we keep it

We keep workshop records while the workshop's account is active. Owners can download a full backup from Settings at any time. After an account is closed we delete its records within [90] days, except where we must keep them by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you by contacting [privacy email]. If you are a customer of a workshop that uses Worqsta, please contact that workshop first, as they control those records.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and tell workshop owners about significant changes.
